Robots are living machines that are created to serve organic life. Some such as X-5 and his uncle B-1 are good and assist the Galactic Guardians, while some like the Termi-Nanny and the Zap Bots are evil. Certain robots, like Captain Lure are designed to look like organic species like humans.
