(The episode starts on an asteroid like planet where Admiral DeGill is hiding behind a bush. A shot is heard and he runs out of his hiding place screaming. He places an alert device on a rock he is hiding behind and sends a message.)
Admiral DeGill: Mayday! Mayday! Ship destroyed! Request help! (Another shot destroys the rock. Admiral DeGill screams and runs away again. Pontifadora can be seen in the background laughing evilly. On Earth, some fathers and daughters including Betty and her dad are having a fishing derpy on the lake.)
Voice: The fishing derpy has begun! Catch those fish! (A bored and impatient Betty is waiting in the boat while her dad is practicing using his fishing rod.)
Betty: Come on, Dad! They’ve already started the fishing derpy!
Betty’s Dad: Don’t worry, Betty. There’s plenty of fish for everybody. (As he rows across the lake, Penelope’s voice can be heard.)
Penelope: Over here! (Her father’s huge motorboat passes by, making a huge wave wash over Betty and her dad.) Hi, Betty! (Soaked, Betty and her dad row to the bridge.) Ahoy there! Nice dingy. Better not catch any fish; you might sink! (She laughs at them.)
Betty: In case you haven’t noticed, this isn’t the biggest boat contest. It’s a biggest fish contest, and my dad is gonna win!
Penelope: Gimme a break. My dad can catch a bigger fish than your dad.
Betty: In your dreams!
Penelope: Oh, yeah? Why don’t put your money where your mouth is? How about this: The loser has to wash the winner’s boat. Deal?
Betty: Deal. (She sees Penelope dragging a cooler that is leaking on the deck.) Uh, your cooler’s leaking.
Penelope: (Stopping to rest) Mind your own business.
Mr. Lang: Kid, it’s time for your pre-fishing spatry. I’ll take that in.
Penelope: Thanks, Daddy. (To Betty) See ya, loser. (As she walks away, Betty runs up to her cooler. She opens up and sees big fish and gasps.)
Betty: They’re cheating! (As she hears Penelope talking to her dad, her bracelet beeps.) Um, Dad? You go ahead and start fishing. I’m gonna have a swim first.
Betty’s Dad: Oh, OK, pumpkin. (Betty hides in a shed near the like.)
Betty: Atomic Betty.
Sparky: Chief! We’ve got a big problem!
Betty: Oh, alright. Pick me up.
(The spaceship picks her up and she changes into her Galactic Guardian form. Then she runs over to Sparky and X-5.)
Betty: What’s up? An emergency?
X-5: One hour ago, a transmission was picked up by a star fraider in the far reaches of space. (He shows the transmission from Admiral DeGill.)
Admiral DeGill: Mayday! Mayday! Ship is destroyed. I’m requesting help. Pontifadora has escaped. She’s hunting me down. (He hears a shot and runs away.)
Betty: It sounds serious. Who’s Pontifadora?
X-5: Pontifadora the Concestadora. (He shows pictures of Pontifadora and her past along with her dating Admiral DeGill.) Big game onter and former girlfriend of Admiral DeGill. Before he jilted her for a showgirl Planet Vega. Later he turned her to authorities after she embarked on a life of crime. She escaped recently from Derangilum Maximum Security. She has lured Admiral DeGill to the remote outpost of Ursa Minor, where she is hunting him down as we speak.
Betty: Wow. And I thought Admiral DeGill was all business. (X-5 pulls the switch and the spaceship lands on the planet.)
Sparky: It sure is remote.
X-5: Very. (The ship lands on the ground. The crew then gets out. The planet begins to shake.)
Betty: This asteroid’s unstable. We’ve got to find the Admiral before it blows. And before I lose my bet to that cheater Penelope Lang. (She goes by a tree and sees shots from her binoculars.) I got it! South, south east!
Sparky: Hey, look! Someone left a fancy cake! (He runs to the cake and takes a huge slice.)
X-5: Don’t touch that! (But he is too late. Sparky takes a bite and the cake sinks into the ground. Betty turns around and sees the ship fall through the ground along with Sparky and X-5. She runs to the hole and sees the ship floating on the lava.)
Sparky: (Seeing Admiral DeGill’s spaceship) Look at that! It’s the Admiral’s ship! (His ship sinks into the lava.)
Betty: Sparky! X-5! Are you OK?
X-5: We’re fine! But the extreme heat has rendured the Starcruiser inoperable!
Betty: Rodger. I’ll find DeGill. You guys get the ship out. (She runs off.)
X-5: I just said the ship is inoperable! (He sighs in annoyance. Betty uses her space binoculars and sees the shots.)
Betty: Oh, no. (Meanwhile, Admiral DeGill is hiding behind a tree. A shot hits the tree and runs away. As he runs, he trips over a wire and his hat falls off. He then hears Pontifadora’s evil laughter.)
Ponfifadora: Oh, Gilly! Look out you! You always ran away from commitment. (Admiral DeGill starts running again. Blades hit him, causing his clothes to be ripped off. As runs past more trees, the blades hit them and they fall. Admiral DeGill falls on the ground again.) Well, well, well. My ex-DeGill. I haven’t seen you since… Hmm. Let me see… Since you got me thrown into jail, you backstabbing, no-good, lungless worm! (Admiral DeGill tries to run away, but Ponfifadora lassos one of his ankles with a rope.)
Admiral DeGill: You were a criminal. I had no choice.
Ponififadora: It’s too late for apologies now!
Betty: Who’s apologizing? (She kicks Ponfifadora, leaving Admiral DeGill tied to a tree. Betty throws a blade at rope and frees him. Both of them then face Ponfifadora.)
Ponfifadora: You’re not fish enough to face me on your own! This isn’t over yet! (An anteater like creature jumps onto her shoulder and she runs away.)
Admiral DeGill: You, we’d better go. She’ll go back to her ship and return with more fire power. This way! (Back on the lake, Penelope is sitting on a chair in her dad’s boat.)
Penelope: (sighs) Fishing is hard work.
Mr. Lang: (Holding a plate of caviar) Get it. Don’t eat sandwiches. Have some caviar. (He gives the caviar to his daughter and she throws her sandwich into the water.)
(Back on the planet, X-5 is rowing the spaceship across the lava while Sparky is relaxing.)
X-5: My sight mcreadings indicate that the entire asteroid is highly unstable. We could be destroyed!
Sparky: (Dressed in summer clothes) Chill, dude. We can look for an escape route and relax at the same time.
X-5: The intense heat is playing havoc with my circuitry! (His head spins.) If I don’t get out of here fast- (His voice becomes deeper and he shuts down.)
Sparky: You know what you need? A papaya smoothie. (He turns on the smoothie machine. Meanwhile, Betty and Admiral DeGill are trying to cross a damaged tree to the other side. Before Admiral DeGill gets to the end, shots are fired at him.)
Admiral DeGill: My goodness! (He tries to run to the end of the fallen tree, but it falls into the lava.)
Betty: Admiral! (Luckily, Admiral DeGill’s fin can be seen clinging to the cliff and he climbs up.) Run for it, sir! (More shots are fired.)
Admiral DeGill: Gracious! (He runs away from the cliff.)
Ponfifadora: You and your precious admiral, how long before he replaces you with someone else?
Betty: The Admiral is a professional colleague.
Ponfifadora: He’s a slippery rat fish! (Betty jumps over and she lassoes Betty with a rope with balls, pinning her arms. Just before Betty can free herself with her bracelet, Ponfifadora throws a boomerang knife, causing the bracelet to be taken from Betty. Ponfifadora catches the knife and takes the bracelet.) The great Atomic Betty. Not much without your bracelet, are you? (Later, Betty is trapped in a cage made out of rope above the lava.)
Betty: That is not just my bracelet! It’s a property of the Galactic Guardians!
Ponfifadora: Good. I’ll consider it a souvenir of my victory. (She uses rope, wraps it around her neck, and puts the bracelet on it as a necklace decoration.) That and DeGill stuffed on my wall. Now, be a dear and call for help.)
Betty: Admiral DeGill would never be silly enough to walk into a trap this obvious. (Ponfifadora hears Admiral DeGill clearing his throat and turns around.)
Admiral DeGill: Ponfifadora, you disappoint me.
Ponfifadora: Gilly, I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist rescuing your girlfriend.
Admiral DeGill: Betty is a professional colleague!
Ponfifadora: (Carrying a box of weapons) Choose your weapon, Fish breath! (Admiral DeGill takes the purple weapon and Ponfifadora chooses the pink.)
Admiral DeGill: I was always fateful to you. (He and Ponfifadora begin to fight.)
Ponfifadora: You had eyes on both sides on your head! (Betty watches the two fight.)
Admiral DeGill: (Blocking Ponfifadora’s attack) That’s because I’m a FISH! I didn’t mean to hurt you!
Ponfifadora: You left me on my wedding day!
Admiral DeGill: Because you were hunting down the wedding party! (He and Ponfifadora continue to fight. Finally, Admiral DeGill uses his weapon as a vault and punches Ponfifadora. She then uses her weapon to shoot blades at him. He jumps over them, splits his weapon in half and flies past her.)
Betty: Look out! Behind you! (A claw grabs Admiral DeGill by the tail and stops him from flying to Betty’s cage. Ponfifadora tries to fish him toward her, but he uses his weapon to free himself. Ponfifadora then walks over to the edge with the ant eater like creature.)
Ponfifadora: Hector, you love Mommy, don’t you? (She throws the ant eater at Betty’s cage.) Take care of her! (The ant eater begins nibbling on the rope that is holding Betty’s cage. Ponfifadora then goes back to fighting Admiral DeGill.)
Betty: Shoo! Go away! (The ant eater ignores her and continues to nibble on the rope. Meanwhile, the spaceship is still floating down the river of lava. X-5 is drinking the papaya smoothie Sparky made him.)
X-5: The average rainfall on Zilex 4 is 100 millimetres per day. My memory chips are regressing… to ring around the sea drive. (He shuts down again.)
Sparky: X-5! Speak to me! (He uses a long green stick to break the ground above them.) Hold on, buddy. I’m gonna get you out of here. (Back on the cliff, the ant eater stops nibbling on the rope with the cage. Betty gasps because the cage is close to falling into the lava. Just before it breaks off, she grabs onto it.)
Betty: I can’t hold on! (Sparky is still using the stick to break the ground above and it finally breaks. He helps X-5 into the spaceship and gets in as well. A lava spout sends the ship flying out and it flies to find Betty. She is still holding on to the rope and her hand starts to slip. Admiral DeGill finally gets Betty’s bracelet away from Ponfifadora. The cage begins to fall. Just before she would burn to death, Admiral DeGill runs to the edge and throws it to Betty. She then teleports into the spaceship. Outside, the ground crumbles and the volcano erupts. Admiral DeGill begins to fall, but the ship catches him with net and puts him inside.)
Sparky: I got him! (Ponfifadora can be seen flying. She presses a button and shields herself from the explosion. The spaceship flies away from the planet as it explodes.)
Admiral DeGill: (Sitting in Betty’s seat) Thank you, Betty. I owe you my life.
Betty: All in a day’s work, sir. Did Ponfifadora get away?
Admiral DeGill: I suspect we haven’t seen the last of her.
(The spaceship drops Betty off into the lake. The fishing derpy is now over.)
Voice: Attention, fishers! Hooks out! The fishing derpy is now complete. (Betty gets in her Dad’s boat.)
Betty’s Dad: (Having caught a fish) Betty, where have you been?
Betty: Um… I had to go to the store and buy some fish sticks. (Penelope’s father’s boat comes up.)
Penelope: Time’s up. The fishing derpy is over. Let’s see what you got. (Betty takes out the fish her dad caught.) Ha! Nice try. I think you’ll see that our fish is clearly superior. Daddy, show them what’s in the cooler. (Her dad takes out a box of fish sticks.)
Mr. Lang: Oh. Fish sticks. My favorite. Reginal, throw away the caviar. Kitten got us fish sticks. (Penelope runs to the cooler and gasps.)
Penelope: But… how?! Who? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FISH?!
Betty: Now, about that bet we had… (Later, she and her dad are relaxing on floaties and drinking smoothies.) Ah. This is the life, huh, Dad?
Betty’s Dad: You said it, Betty. It sure is nice of Penelope to wash our boat. (He sees Penelope cleaning their boat.)
Betty: Yeah. Isn’t she super? (A fish jumps out of the water and back in. Water splashes on the screen, ending the episode.)
